With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a parent and how many of us live for our children. Being a mother is the largest responsibility in the world – and Loren and I were both blessed with incredible mothers. Loren herself became an amazing mom – and the cycle of life continued when our daughter Amber became a mother. Mothers go above and beyond, not only for their children, but for the whole world. Our family is blessed beyond words to have mothers like Loren and Amber, and I know many of you also feel the exact same way about the special mothers in your life.
Most parents do everything they can to support & nurture the success and happiness of their children – but UnFranchise Owners can do even more by empowering their families and loved ones through entrepreneurism. Min Liu and Olivia Li are perfect examples of this. You may recall during World Conference, we celebrated the incredible journey of Min Liu, whose perseverance and determination have made her a brilliant UnFranchise icon, leader and success story – as well as our most recent recipient of the Jerry Siciliano Award! Min Liu is a shining example of what it means to be a mother and an entrepreneur, and I felt this was the perfect time to acknowledge and celebrate her immense contribution to the success of her family as well as our entire company.
I can’t think of a more deserving recipient of the Jerry Siciliano Award than Min Liu, because Jerry was all about mentoring others and nurturing their success – in the same way Min has done for many people including her daughter Olivia. The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree with Olivia, and she’s continued the tradition of success by building a tremendous UnFranchise business of her own. I love seeing this type of multi-generational success, and especially love seeing our business empower families and loved ones while bringing them closer together. The fact that our business is inheritable is so important to us because we want every family to have the capacity to carry on the legacy and tradition of entrepreneurial empowerment!
As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend – I’m not only thankful for the special mothers in my life – Loren and Amber – but also for all the moms out there like Min Liu who give their children the greatest gift of all: belief in oneself and the chance to become what you want to be! You not only inspire your children and show them the way, but you provide them with the means to do something about it. To me, that’s the greatest gift a parent can give – so Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there who love, nurture, teach, and empower their children!
