This is an absolutely amazing and inspiring story of a magic moment in the business on the journey to success. These are the types of experiences and outcomes that create directors – this is worth reading! I just had to share it because people need to hear these things and identify with them. Anyone who has made it will identify with this scenario.
Please take a moment to read a note I received from Tan Westcarr. Tan and her husband Gavin have been doing a tremendous job growing their business in the UK by booking appointments in other people’s homes. They’ve been utilizing social media to grow their business and meet new contacts, and as you can see below they’ve experienced some amazing success with these tactics!
Tan Westcarr’s Message:
Hi Loren and JR,
Last night Gav and I went to meet with the 15 years olds from social media and their parents, Sorelda came along as well to build on her experience in showing the plan. There were 3 of them but not sure what happened to the main one Natasha, she was the one I communicated with most in terms of organising everything with the girls and their parents, however on the day she did not turn up though she had text me only hours before. I have tried to follow up to see if she is ok. The other two girls just said something happened at home and she can’t make it, so I left it at that. Jim was unable to attend though originally booked with him as he returned late from Paris on Sunday evening.
Meeting place Cafe Rouge. Niusha first on the right attended with her dad Nasa (Banker) and Iliya came with both her parents Mary and George (Financier). To be honest this was mine and Gav’s toughest meeting to date in showing the plan and the questions that were asked especially from the banker, he wanted specific figures and other things that we were not able to comment on. So I made the business very personal and stated the facts that were in the flip charts and also my personal experience with the business. Gav also played a great role in re-focusing the conversation so that they were able to see the benefits. I also highlighted how it would positively affect their daughters in terms of being so entrepreneurial at such a young age and their friends would start seeing them as pioneers and COOL. I reminded him that though we are talking business to the parents that for the girls this is a fun way to make money, look beautiful and learn about business. Between the 3 of us Gav, Sorelda and I we definitely held our own for ourselves and for the business. The girls left excited about planning their first party and the parents are booked to attend the UBP tomorrow and to speak with Jim afterwards.
After the meeting I sent an email with the About Market UK document and also a link to the webinar with Jim, all of this along with the details for the UBP tomorrow.
Today I followed up with Jim and told him how the meeting went, he said we did well, Gav also attended the call workshop, I missed it as I was doing a product preview with a makeup artist.

As if Tan’s message wasn’t great, check out Jim Winkler’s follow-up to this story. There are some truly exciting things happening in the UK now!
As a great follow up to this. The dad’s came to the UBP on Tuesday night. After it ended we had a great follow up. They said that on the way there they did not want to be at the meeting but after listening and seeing what is happening in the area they were excited for the girls. One of the fathers basically said let’s get this started and both agreed to let Tan come in and book Motives meetings in the girls homes to move product. Looks like two new business partners and lots of product being moved.
Tan – I think the most important lesson is that you are much better than you thought you were. You handled the meeting to get them to the UBP on your own and the fathers are excited about their daughters working with you. You and Gavin are going to move so fast now that you are booking your own meetings into other people’s homes. Remember, you can never move as fast as you want unless you take control of booking meetings with your group and you are showing the plan and the products. So proud of you!
