With fifteen Latin Grammy Awards and three Grammys, it’s safe to say our dear friend Alejandro Sanz has always been a show stopper – but during a recent performance in Rosarito, Mexico Ale brought a whole new meaning to show stopper. During his performance of “La Música No Se Toca,” Ale noticed something wasn’t quite right in the first row. He saw a man mistreating a woman, and immediately stopped performing so he and the security team could personally handle the situation and remove the abusive man from the venue.
It was a tense situation but Ale stood tall like a true hero to protect someone in need. After the situation calmed down a bit Ale spoke to the crowd to explain what happened and apologize to the concert-goers: “I want to apologize for what just happened, but I just can’t stand anyone touching anyone, let alone a woman. You don’t hit women.” As always Ale is a knight in shining armor, and did the right thing by stopping the show and addressing the issue immediately.
For anyone who knows Ale, it’s no surprise that he acted this way on the behalf of someone else – and I’m thrilled to see that videos of the event are now going viral on YouTube and Social Media. I’m so proud to call Ale a friend and hope his chivalrous actions will help create more awareness about domestic violence and violence against women.
These types of things should never be tolerated in society, but it seems that all too often we hear about situations where people stood by and looked the other way as atrocities occurred – but not with Alejandro. Ale showed the world what can happen when someone takes a stand for the right reasons. Share this with the world and help take a stand against violence!
Keep Growing!
