Giveaway: Apple iPad for your thoughts

The Apple iPad has been out for just over a month and users (like myself) are ecstatic over the possibilities that it provides.  One lingering question that I have though is whether 3G or wi-fi is needed.  With wi-fi only model, there isn’t an added expense, since you’ll be connecting to your own network.  With the wi-fi + 3G model, not only will you add in an antenna, you’ve just tacked on $130 extra on your base cost  as well plus another $30 per month (if you choose to go with the unlimited plan from AT&T – which doesn’t include a contract for once).  The great thing about the 3G model is that you will get coverage wherever you have a signal (but remember, you’re paying a price for convenience).

So which should you get? This will depend on several things. The first question is when and how do you plan to use an Apple iPad? If it will be a device that you use mostly at home or work where you have an accessible wi-fi network, and if you don¹t plan to travel with it a lot, then maybe the wi-fi only model is enough for you. Even if you travel a lot, if you already have an iPhone or some other smartphone with a data plan, you may still want to save yourself $130 and opt out of the 3G. However, if you travel a lot without a smartphone data plan, especially internationally, the 3G data option could actually save you money and frustration. Plus, the 3G option gives you the ability to use some of the great Google maps application features (which are only available on the wi-fi + 3G model).

The next question is whether you can afford it? If $130 is no big deal, then you may want to go for it. It will make the Apple iPad a very flexible device without locking you into anything that might cost you more money (since there also isn’t a contract with the data plan on the iPad). It will also add a similar amount of resale value to the iPad when you are ready to move on someday. But if money is tight, the wi-fi iPad is very usable without that 3G option that many will not use much anyways.

And this is my answer. In the end, the 3G decision is a lot like the iPhone vs. iPod touch decision. This time, there is no monthly contract to make the cost difference as big, but the comparison is very similar.

To answer this question myself, I would buy an Apple iPad but I am currently planning to do the wi-fi only model. I plan to use the iPad primarily at home, or, when I travel, it will be used in hotel rooms or other places that I might use my MacBook Pro today. I already have an iPhone for my domestic travel, and although I do travel internationally, I have found that wi-fi is usually available. But the 3G option is still tempting, and it¹s possible I could change my mind. I will almost certainly get the 3G version if I upgrade to a newer iPad someday. I especially like the idea of being able to use the 3G without a contract.Since I have given my feedback, I would like to ask for your thoughts your thoughts on the two models of the Apple iPad.  In exchange for your thoughts, I will be giving away one (1) 32GB Apple iPad (wi-fi model) to the person who gives me the best answers to the following questions.

I want to know your thoughts on the following questions (and be creative):

  • Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
  • Where do you primarily access the Internet from?

    Well here goes.

This would be perfect. I was just about to buy the 3G MODEL. The reason is i want to be able to use it anywhere and not worry about a connection. I have an old mac powerbook now and having trouble using it because its to slow. I just left Fort Lauderdale for the summer. Im in the northeast building my unfranchise business. I left a job to build my business. A week in Maine already, i wish i had the ipad to showcase everything my business and company offers. I love using youtube videos and matv. So this is why i would need 3G so i can use anywhere. And, those who do not want to worry about a connection-this would be a great solution and great if you travel for business.

The second question-I Access the internet from my phone, home, and anywhere possible-even the bathroom. Haha

THE THREE THINGS I WOULD USE MY IPAD FOR.

1-Business-Sharing an opportunity that is internet based and important in my life right now. The ipad would be an amazing tool to allow me to do that.

2-Reading-I LOVE to read and educate myself on current personal growth/business books, audiobooks, and magazines.

3-Ok i have to be real social media and im a facebook junkie and im just getting into twitter. I LOVE to share my thoughts to the world and my friends. I use my facebook status to get people to think and hopefully inspire them to be a better individual. The ipad would make it easier for me to do this wherever im at. And help me when i eventually enter the blogging arena.

    Thank you.

    - Like most people who would be interested in an iPad, I already have a 3G capable device along with the extra monthly cost. The beauty of this is there are apps to connect Wi-fi to the 3G to make it’s connectivity as flexible as 3G without the added cost. I love technology! This way I can continue to access the web anywhere AT&T reaches on my new fancy gizmo. Do I really need to insert the point that the initial cost and a bit of ingenuity is the awesome foundation to creating a great network?-hmm…
    - So what would I do with this silly iPad thingy? First of all, I will stay connected to my networks. That one was the generic, yet very important answer. But seriously, that larger screen and ease of use and portability are extremely attractive to people like me who try to hide squinting at tiny phone screens for every little mobile page. I think vanity just might be the father of invention.
    - I would also use the iPad as a portable portfolio. I am a visual artist and LOVE the idea of using the larger screen as a devise to show my work. Not only mine, but also my husbands music that he has on Conquer Entertainment! This brings us to the exiting possibilities of sharing and creating interest in my interests. Talking about and showing ideas are two very different things.
    - Let’s go back to the point of vanity for my third use of the iPad. There’s nothing like the newest, flashiest technology to boost confidence and do your talking for you! Or I should say for me, after I win this. Any who, I think we all know that having video and audio of the plan on an easy to use and see devise is the bomb. A portable JR in my purse? How awesome is that? The treadmill segment from World Conference deserves this platform! And, I am just the person to show it.

I have been wanting albeit NEEDING an Ipad since apple unveiled it and now since my sponsors won the last contest, I've decided to give it a try. They have truly been an inspiration! Thank you Ryan and Sarah Rose!

I have been involved with MA for about 7 months and recently became a webcenter owner. Just yesterday I sold my first website on my second appointment. The first appointment I went on might have resulted in a sale had the business owner had internet access. (I was unable to give her a visual/hands-on experience.) For this reason, I feel it is very important for me to have both wi-fi and 3G. (Not to mention the extra $130/month would be a write-off.) That being said I think that wi-fi is the future. Some city's have already created public wi-fi areas that will only be expanding. Also, Company's such as Clear have created a new 4G experience as 3G was created mostly for phones and not intended for high volume computers. I believe this will eventually make 3G obsolete. So my answer to wi-fi+3G or wi-fi is 2 sided. I would choose wi-fi+3G at this moment, but most definitely go with just wi-fi in the not-to-distant future.

I, like most Americans, access the internet primarily from my home. However, I find myself checking e-mail, news, sports etc. more and more from my phone each passing week, which brings me to how I would use an ipad!

Given the mobliltiy of an Ipad, I would bring it to my clients' businesses and give them the best experience possible. (It would look really cool and impressing if I pulled that thing out during an appointment!) I could do almost everything needed to run my business all from that little notebook-sized device. As I consider myself to be an avid reader, I would also use it to feed my mind with as many books as possible. I could fit an unlimited amount of books in an Ipad which would make my wife, Heather, very happy. You see, we currently live in a small 700 sq. ft. apartment and the amount of books we have take up an awful lot of space. It would make us both very happy to get rid of them. Lastly, other than personal use, I would use my ipad to introduce my grandparents to technology. I saw a segment on the news the other day and in it a grand-daughter bought her grandmother an ipad for her 90th birthday. I made a note of the grandmother's joyful expression as she did things she never thought possible. I thought to myself," I'm going to do that one day." These are the three main reasons I would love to have an Ipad.

Thank you JR for the inspiration you are to me and countless others. God Bless!

I would prefer the wi-fi only model because the 4G is going to be out for public very soon. When I used 3G on a phone it was just barely fast enough for small maneuvers, if used on an iPad I would imagine it to be too slow for any real usage.

I normally access internet from HotSpots such as Starbucks, some restaurants, and also libraries. Many places also have public wi-fi access to provide convenience to people and I would access the internet from such places as well.

I would use the iPad for many things; however, the most important three things are as follow:
    1. School and Education: with an iPad I would have added mobility to my college education. Normally I carry around my laptop to classes but the weight of the laptop combined with books is very unhealthy for my back. With an iPad's extra light-weight, it would take much stress off my body! Also, an iPad would enable me to take notes much easier in class!

    2. I can have a very convenient way of showing the Market America business to my friends and classmates! Since we are basically on campus 24/7 an iPad would give me the ability to show visuals, products, web portal, the business plan, etc. anywhere at any given time! Just imagine the amount of sales this would increase and the thought of it makes my blood boil in excitement!

    3. I can read articles and publications on the iPad on the go! I am constantly trying to better myself by increasing my knowledge on many things and with an iPad I can access books everywhere! I can use it to read all the amazing Market America publications and articles! By doing so, I will gain more knowledge and power! As quoted in the Career Manual, "Knowledge is power; you must first obtain it, then use it."

    1. I would actually go for the Wi-Fi + 3G function just because I would need better reception wherever am at especially if there's a business presentation going on with the Ipad. I know 4G will come out soon, but in the meantime I would really go for the 3G. There always room for an upgrade. I don't want my presentation or an important reading to crash because I'm only on wi-fi. With 3G I can basically be anywhere, even at a park.
2.I access my internet with my MacBookPro from home (wireless) and with my 3G Blackberry Bold.
    3. I'm limited with my 3G Blackberry phone to do certain things, and with my MacBookPro, I barely carry it around unless it's for a business presentation. However, with an Ipad a bit bigger in size than an iphone, I can definitely transfer information from my mac to the Ipad and be able to do work more comfortably. At seminars I can pull the Ipad out, and write important tips and notations. I find the Ipad unlimited to do anything and with the 3G function, I won't be losing reception, not even in a room of 20K+ people.

I love mine! It has helped me close 2 new sales, sow the plan, keep a running tally of creative thoughts for later expansion and entertained my 5 year old while I'm on a conference call. It also has synced with all of my calendars so so that my every time I update my calendar on the iPad it automatically updates for everyone else! I am so perfectly happy with the wifi version. Any time I need to get online, there has usually been a connection available or a wifi hotspot.

I'm not entering just here to share the love and wish the next winner luck!

JR, you are so amazing. Thanks again for the iPad. I don't know how I was surviving without one! :)

First, i think that it is better to get the Wi-Fi model + the 3G because it would be such a bore to keep on switching with your phone. for example, if you are browsing on the internet with your ipad and then you need to connect elsewhere, it will be much easier to just be able to use your ipad if it has 3G. it will save the fustration.
Secondly, i access my internet through my pc but when im somewhere else like at a hotel or somewhere where i cannot bring my pc, i would have to use my cell and i hate doing that. i rather have one device and carry that.
Lastly, i would use the ipad for buying and reading books about business and marketing because my mom is in the business right now and she is so motivated. she makes me want to do it too, therefore in 2 years when im 18 i will join market america and try to be the next millionaire. i want to be able to help "the people" just like you, JR... BUT thats not all i want the ipad for. :) i also would like it to hold my music and be able to watch movies on it since i dont have any of that.

You should get a Wifi only iPad and get a Verizon Wireless Mifi because verizon wireless 3G Network is the highest ranking network with the least dropped connection ranked by jd power and associates, and consumer reports. So when you have a 3G mifi to give your iPad wifi connection you can essencially connect to broadband speeds anywhere you go, and no interrupted connection.`x

because in tadays world it's all about internet access and with security being so good on Wi-Fi networks 3G is a must have to pretty much guarantee a connection.

I said definitely get the wifi + 3G, you would have much fun with it. Look at it this way, why would Apple come out with 2 models? Because it saw the need for it. :)

Plus, everyone will be talking about the 3G model, this is a good to maintain the coolness.

For me, I mostly access the internet from home and work place. If I get the iPad 3G,i would definitely be on the 3G network. :)

See, I would use ipad for my late night internet surfing and Japanese cartoon (called "Detective Conan") watching before I fall asleep. I would also bring it with me, since it can fit into my purse, when I need to discuss business on the fly, and on the plane when I can read quietly and strike conversation with the people sitting next to me, and they would want to get iPad too. :)

    Hi JR,

After reading your blog and looking at your needs with Apple's iPad, I like to share some of my thoughts with you. I would like to address the main point (3G or Wi-fi Only) and a few of the additional points.

Let me start by telling you how I would use the iPad.

    1. 3G vs Wi-fi Only?
Businesses need to be adaptable and flexible. The business's success is directly correlated to how fast it can adapt and how flexible it can be with its operations and guidelines. Based on this model, 3G gives you the most flexibility. I understand that you travel a lot and that wi-fi is readily available. However, the 3G option is the backup plan; much like how MA is the Plan B to the 45 year plan.

Advantages to 3G vs Wi-Fi Only: Options are great. While you have an iPhone and MacBook readily available, the iPad can replace the MacBook. It is much smaller and the touch-screen feature is really the way of the future. It also makes it much easier to sign up preferred customers than having to wait for your MacBook to boot up. The key here is that the iPad can simply load applications much quicker than the MacBook.

Disadvantages to 3G vs Wi-Fi Only: There is an additional cost up front of $120 to upgrade to have 3G capabilities. Also, you have to sign up for the data plan. Additionaly, Wi-Fi is much faster than 3G in general and 3G should only be used if Wi-Fi is not available. However, just because Wi-Fi is available does NOT mean you can access it for free (addressed in the next point).

My conclusion: Having the 3G feature is like having a backup plan. For some reason, if Wi-Fi is not available, you still have 3G. As a business owner of an online business, if you are not online every minute, your business is losing money. This alone is enough to outweigh the drawbacks of having to pay for the upgrade and the monthly data plan service.

    2. Where do you primarily access the Internet from?
I typically access the Internet from either my home, or a location with Wi-Fi, such as Starbucks, Peet's Coffee, or my local library. From what I noticed, places like Starbucks have a requirement to access their Wi-Fi. For example, they require a purchase of their Starbucks card. This card is much like a pay-as-you go plan; you get to add a dollar amount and you can use the card on Starbucks purchases. At the same time, this card must be registered on their website. Then, in order to accumulate Wi-Fi time, you have to make certain amount of purchases, not dollar amount spent, in order to qualify Wi-Fi time.

Let's look at it in another way: If you are already making purchases at Starbucks in order to acquire their use of Wi-Fi, how is it any different than paying a monthly service fee for the 3G? Upgrade costs aside, there really is no difference as Starbucks requires constant purchases in order to accumulate Wi-Fi time. The 3G fee is a static monthly fee with unlimited data while Starbucks does not provide unlimited Wi-Fi time.

    3. Three things I would use an Apple iPad for are...
    A. Showing the business plan. It's a simple procedure of copying the business plan DVD, converting it through iTunes, and then syncing it with the iPad.
    B. Signing up Preferred Customers. The iPad comes with its own browser and the screen is much larger than the iPhone. This allows me to sign them up and showing them that MA is really at the technology front. Laptops are bulky and require booting up. Speed and time is what the iPad has and it's well worth it.
    C. Making sales to Preferred Customers. Preferred customers can immediately purchase products through the iPad. It's much better and faster than using the iPhone due to the much larger screen on the iPad. It allows products to be displayed fully instead of forcing customers to squint at it.

The iPad would be strictly for business and to help grow my business. The iPad is merely a tool, and like any tool, what you get out of it is what you put in. What happens if the hotel does not provide Wi-Fi? Having the technology (3G) available is far more valuable than not having it because it can save me time and gives me access to my clients and business.

    1. Wifi only or 3G and Wifi? The money is a tax write off as you use this device for your Market America business. So would I.

Therefore it makes business sense to have 3G and Wifi. Flexibility is key.

We have divirsity in our business and the devices we own should be diverse as well so they remain sustainable longterm.

Too much OEM technology and limitations has made a "throw out" mentality which is creating havoc on the planet. We all must be thinking about the environment with our decisions now.

    2. I access the Internet everywhere. It is not only essential for business but it is a safety issue for women. (I'm in my 6th decade and have experienced multiple instances of assault and theft. Thank goodness I was required to learn self defense in college!)

    3. I would use my IPad for business of course; showing our amazing/innovative business model, helping people save money shopping online, introducing Doctors and other health professionals to change the health of America.

I would use it for reading which is so important to keep up attitude and knowledge. I would use it for taking notes at trainings. It is very inconvenient right now to drag a computer bag with laptop into the convention centers and training sites and on planes, etc.

Thirdly I would use it for art. I'm a professional artist and I constantly have new ideas for paintings, sweaters that I design, cards that I send.

This all ties into social networking as well.

with 3g you have a more reliable connection, wi-fi is (sometimes) hit and miss. if you are continuously online then 3g will give you more security....plus while you are showing someone how to earn online a faster, more reliable online experience is more appealing....just my opinion!

    Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
The Wi-fi only model makes alot of sense because of the lower price, but you get more functionality out the 3g model. If money were no problem I would certainly get the 3g+ wifi model.

Where do you primarily access the Internet from? I primarily access the internet from home and secondly while i'm out and about from my mobile device.

Three things you would use an Apple iPad for are...
    1. Books look spectacular on the iPad. So reading books would be on the top of the list.
    2. Allow my kids to watch movies while on long road trips.
    3. Remote desktop computing is something I would be really interested in using. Using a service like logmein or gotomeeting for the iPad would not only be fun, but easy to do from anywhere.
    4. Gps device with a 9 inch screen would be marvelous
    5. Using it as a bible in church.

    Those are my top 5.

    1. For my personal use, I'd get the Wi-Fi only model. There's no use for the 3G model (for me) unless you travel a lot where Wi-Fi spots are limited or the connections are spotty. However, with all of the new Wi-Fi spots opening up, that's becoming less and less of a problem. The Wi-Fi only model is also cheaper. As a second year college student, you really have to balance the necessities vs. the "luxury." I can do with a slower and slightly less "secure" connection as long as I can have some extra money around to cushion the weight of California's budget cuts.

    2. I would use the iPad primarily from school and home, and most likely will bring it to the local core meetings if I need it for presentations.

    3. (a) I think it will be great for school if there's a group project. Think about it; when you're working with a group and are all sharing one computer screen, isn't it a hassle to have to crowd around? Even if there's a laptop, it's still a hassle to have to move it around the table for everyone to get a good look at the screen. There's also the trouble of those wires... With the iPad, that should be no problem at all.

    (b) I'd love it during night time as I'm getting ready for bed as well. Many times, I'll have an idea pop into my head that I feel like I HAVE to a quick online online for, but don't want to get up. It seems like the iPad would get the job done effortlessly.

    (c) When I'm introducing the business to friends and potential partners, I would most likely use the iPad for this as well. It beats lugging around a heavy laptop or a netbook with a tiny keyboard and provides quick access to the files needed. I'm usually at a location (home, Starbucks, school, etc.) where Wi-Fi is available, so the 3G network is not necessary. This will make things go a lot more smoothly since I can show my friends first hand how the portal and the MA marketing system works without having to draw out the "complicated" (to first timers, it's "complicated") models. Also, the presentations could be loaded up and shown as well.

    Thank you.

I would do the 3G with Wi-fi but not the Wi-fi alone just for the security. I currently do not have a portable means (it is on my vision board) to access the internet yet but I use the data on my LG Vu phone everywhere. I could use the apple Ipad to show the plan ANYWHERE and I could use it to find directions to my prospects' homes, do,adn third do Cashback portal tours at the park while the parents let their kids play, but the possibilities are endless!!!

    * Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
I will get W-fi+3G. Even though there are more and more wi-fi access places now, you still could encounter the situation that no internet access at all while you are just about to show your prospect your portal. 3G is like an additional insurance to guarantee you have internet access anytime, anywhere especially during international travel. My smart phone was useless and the wi-fi access was charged extra while I was traveling in Europe last month.
    * Where do you primarily access the Internet from?
Anywhere, anytime, since I have a smartphone with data plan but it's not convenient at all if I want to show something to my prospects.
    * Three things you would use an Apple iPad for are...
    1) Access internet anywhere. 2) Using Apple Apps for all kinds of purpose. 3)Use it as all-in-one.

So save your self the monthly fee and just get the Wi-fi besides it's cheaper too not to mention the monthly free along with the more expensive Ipad. Good Luck :)

In my case, I would definitely prefer the wi-fi + 3G model. I am a current iPhone 3G user that could not live without it. Although there are wi-fi hotspots all over, I am an IT professional (not for too much longer for my full time position of course) and know of the security concerns of connecting to public wi-fi. For locations where I know the connection is safe, the wi-fi is great for increased data speeds, but being able to access the internet from anywhere for browsing and apps is awesome.

I primarily access the internet at work during my full time job, but besides that I use my iPhone constantly, which is great, but not ideal for web browsing. I have seen the browsing on the iPad and it is unbelievable. It would be great to be able to pull up product information or videos on the spot when talking to people. For those people that have an iPhone or iPad, they know how great the technology is and how convenient it is to have the internet at your fingertips, but for those that don't, they just don't know. And of course, you don't know what you don't know.

The iPad is a great tool for building my UnFranchise. It would give me the ability to show clients the great benefits and possibilities of owning their own website. Being able to show them examples and discuss the difficulties of finding their business online without a website would be priceless. I think it would truly make an impact by showing them first hand how being accessible to internet searches could cause a huge growth in their business. I would also convert the website and business presentation videos from DVDs so that I could show them at any time on my iPad. My wife and I would also be able to show product information about all of the amazing supplements to people we come in contact with every day.

I would also implement the same features on the iPad as I do my iPhone. I currently have 3 email accounts and 2 calendars synchronizing wirelessly with my iPhone. Being able to access this data from anywhere has become part of my life. In the IT industry, it is a requirement that I be accessible by email practically 24/7. I would love to be able to knock that commitment down to 10-15 hours a week instead of 10-15 hours a day by growing my Market America team. I could use these communication features more effectively with other people on an iPad. The ability to schedule appointments and show other people emails and calendars on such a visible screen would be extraordinary.

Finally, it would be an asset to my current job and would allow me the freedom to work both Market America and my current job at the same time. I could be on the road and have remote access to all of my client's server and networks using the 3G capabilities without having to search for a wi-fi hotspot and lug around a laptop or in emergency use my iPhone, which is a real challenge for such a small screen. My current position requires after-hour work and being able to build my UnFranchise business while still being available for my current responsibilities would be a true asset.

    2. I use the Internet from home and mobile

    3. I'll use the ipad for
    a. Online shopping
    b. business presentations
    c. posting/sharing on all the social networking sites

If you're going to have an ipod, it doesn't make any sense not to have an internet connection at ALL times. However, I would get the wifi model w/out the 3G. Here's why...

I would get myself a share-able data connection like the Verizon Mi-fi.(Sprint has one too)That will allow up to 5 devices to connect to the internet including the iPad.

When I'm doing work with my team, I'm usually not the only one with a laptop or other device. So having a shared internet connection comes in super handy and is WAY convenient.

You'll save $130 on the ipad and $30/month in AT&T's data charge. The mi-fi has a $60/month data charge. I personally feel the ability to connect 5 devices is worth the additional cost. Plus these mi-fi devices are super light weight. They're about the size of 6 credit cards stacked.

Anyhow, that's what I would do. I wouldn't pay AT&T ANOTHER $30 on top of the $30 I'm already paying for my iPhone's data. Who knows, with the mi-fi I could cancel that too and just go pure mi-fi!

I would get the ipad wifi plus 3g because it would be fantastic to use when I do my business. I am on the road alot building my business and this would allow me to be right on top of everything that is going on in this big world of ours. Also, I do plan to go out of the country and it would be very important to have access to the world wide web. I could shop from my portal non stop and I know that would certainly please my husband, saving on all those great deals. He just loves when I shop and shop, he thinks it is wonderful. I just keep thinking of how many great deals I am missing when I don't have internet service. I just can't tell you how much I would love it, me with my addicted, compulsive personality, this would be my dream come true. I could even search for self help groups on the go, that certainly would please my husband. Right now I just use my laptop at home, but I need an ipad, I have told my husband this for weeks, but I think he needs to get his ears checked because I still am ipadless. Very sad, but, if you are looking for someone who would really, really appreciate an ipad you dont' need to look any furthur. I am the person you are looking for, and honestly, I think you should get the 3g feature as well, why not...? I always believe in buying the best and that is why I only use Market America products.

By talking with them, I've learned the difference of wi-fi and wi-fi+3G. I've been planning to purchase iphone in order to cope with MA Mobile, but concerned about the screen is not bigger enough to show the plan, now with ipad, that problem solved......I can leave my laptop home and take this wonderful and beautiful device with me along with my iphone! 100% wi-fi + 3G is the way to go!

It depends where you are located geographically if choosing between the Wi-fi or 3G model. For me, because I live in a small community the 3G model would be impractical unless I travel to the twin cities a lot or other large cities with 3G network capabilities. The 3G model would work well for those who live in those big cities or do not have an iphone/smartphone and travel a lot in a 3G city. And if cost is not an issue than why not have it all and get the wi-fi+3G model.

I primarily access the internet at home and when at the coring every Wed. I also access the internet at other customers/prospects home to present either the plan or 1/2 web portal tour.

You can use the Apple ipad for many applications such as digital magazines/books, genealogy work on the go, and of course, use it to SHOW THE PLAN. I've used my iphone as a tool for the business. So why not the ipad too!

    Hello,
    1) Well, I agree with JR that if you have another device like iphone with 3G then why get it on the ipad right? But I noticed that it is not always comfortable to see everything you need on the iphone. Pages there are very small and you can never see the whole page or read it, because the letters are so small. If I had an ipad though it will be more useful and of course easier to see everything without having to zoom in and scroll from side to side to read the material. Also, I would get the 3G right away, because I don't like to tight myself down. Even if you do plan to use it at home only, you never know what my happen and then you might need it with you on the road or somewhere where there is no wi-fi, right? so if that happens I'd like to know that I am covered and that I have the right technology and can use it anywhere. Also, example, I go to the park a lot with my kids, and often when I'm there and they're playing I end up doing my work there. Or, once I even had to show a presentation right there on a park bench, so for that time if I had an ipad with 3G and not just my phone with would have been very useful for me and just priceless to my business. And of course at the end of the day the 3G charge would have been a business right-off anyway.
    2) I access internet about 60% at home and 40% away from home.
    3) I would use the iPad first of all for business and showing presentations on it; second I would use it to socialize on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks; and third of all I would have my pictures there and pictures of my kids, because I need to have them with me at all times )))) and so I can share them and show them off to others of course )))) I'm a proud mom! So the iPad will really save me a lot of time and help my business a lot.

    Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
I would choose Wi-fi + 3G model. Mall without walls. Connection without limited. You can use the 3G model ipad anywhere in the world or in any corner without limited your connection. If I’m JR, I can update my blog anytime, reply the feedback anytime, I can do whenever I want without the limited. Remember, Wi-fi is limited, only Wi-fi available location that you can use. 3G is anywhere, unless the network down, otherwise, 3G sim card technology is available anywhere in the world, and the speed is faster than the Wi-fi. You can be easy to show plan, products, web portal, auctions, widgets, recognition or more immediately.

Where do you primarily access the Internet from?
Home-kick off, 1 to 1 or 2 to 1, showing the web portal, how’s fast and easy to use. If I am by myself, I would use Wi-fi, be a smart people to save my expenses, If I am with other people, I would use 3G, you want to show how fast the business is? how fast you can reach? How fast you can go? Do you want to wait 45 second or 2-3 second to show the business?

Three things you would use an Apple iPad for.
“Change your mind, Change your live.” now I/you changed my/your mind to use 3G ipad, no more laptop or netbook, more 3G less Wi-fi, then my/your life is go faster, I/you can update my/your blog easily, answer the question, show plan anytime more easily.
First, I would store all my recognition pictures in ipad so I can show them to my prospects. Second, I would use the ipad to web portal when I‘m in coffee shop or in subway, because people would like to see what you are doing or what you are watching. Third, I would use the ipad to listen the pat live and the newest mp3 from the TOP people, like JR.

Hey JR, so in answer to your question I decided to do a little research on 3G. Living in Seattle I figured I knew a little about 3G and other wireless technology, but really? LTE, UMB, HSDPA, OFDMA, O-M-G! I haven’t seen this many acronyms since I was in the military! So let’s just build off what I know…

I would definitely agree with you about the wi-fi model. 3G would be perfect for those who don’t care about the extra money, who hate using their handheld for internet access, or those constantly on the go who travel a LOT or in remote places (like camping) and need to access internet all the time. The convenience is definitely there with the 3G though, and you could do business WHEREVER you want!

Although I personally would just take the wi-fi and eliminate the hassle of another bill. Unless you live like a hermit on the side of a mountain there is internet just about everywhere these days; unsecured networks, coffee houses, bars, the library, even McDonalds if you absolutely have to, and what’s better than doing business, having a beer and meeting people all at the same time! My personal favorite has to be Starbucks though, and not just because I’m from Seattle. In most cities across the US (and even in some small local areas) in any given 5 block radius and in EVERY airport you are almost guaranteed to find a Starbucks somewhere. And with JR’s company Market America as your friend, you can pay yourself to surf the internet and enjoy a coffee! Starbucks is one of their partner stores and as a preferred customer (completely free to do) you can buy or refill Starbucks gift cards earning cash back for yourself every coffee you buy, and if you have your own Market America site you earn points toward even more cash (so be sure to do this on my site *wink wink* ;) On top of that, Starbucks offers a program for customers to earn free drinks. Every time you use your gift card to buy something you earn a star. When you accumulate so many you get free internet, and if you get a few more you get a free drink. That’s a total win win- pay less on your ipad, meet new people, pay yourself for internet and coffee, and look really, really smart doing so.

I actually access my internet at local coffee shops (Starbucks included), bars, or my house, and only when I have to on my handheld (which is rather annoying). I meet lots of people when I go out for my internet from time to time, and like to hold my smaller business meetings at these quaint, local venues, but it’s also a pain to lug around my big ol’ lappy and tripping people up with my cord stretched across to the only available plug doesn’t always make me so popular, so an ipad would be an ideal solution (one) and make me look like a techie in the process (two). Everyone in Seattle loves a techie , plus the ipad would be perfect for presentations and walk-throughs of my website and is very professional to boot (three). It also has the perfect screen for viewing the internet- smaller than most mini netbooks, but still able to view websites properly. It’s also loaded better than most mini netbooks with apps, a touchscreen, and is uber thin, lightweight and totally portable (so portable I’d probably bury it in my gi-normous got-it-all-together purse).

And yet again, Apple is a partner store through Market America. So if you’re not one of the lucky winners, why not make yourself lucky (and smart looking too)? Log onto my site (*wink, wink) or Market America’s main site, buy one for yourself, and pay yourself in the process!!! JR makes this stuff so easy…

    1) I'd go with the wifi model because most places I visit have a wifi hotspot - this includes work, home, family, friends. You can also get access to many free hotspots nationwide. Unless I'm visiting a remote island or getting lost in the desert I'd probably steer clear of the 3g and extra cost.

2)I mostly access the internet from home, work, parent's house, restaurants, book stores....wherever I can. I love being portable.

    3)
I don't know what I wouldn't use it for as I rely on my iPod Touch for so much between home, work, and play. However, the top three I can think of:

    - Use it for painting digital masterpieces rather than doodling during meetings
    - My on the go desktop. It would replace my laptop for most functions which would mean one less item to tote around
    - Reading. I'd finally catch up on all those books I've been meaning to read - virtually.

3G was for the business user or who can afford the monthly payment, becasue it was expensive. But now, iphone came out, ipad and lot of smartphone came out, the 3G monthly fee is going down, it is good for the every consumers that can afford it. Market America business is also good for the every people who want to success, who want to change their future. So 3G and Market America can link together. This is our future, this is our success. This is the way we go for it.

And, I really do access the web everywhere I go!
BTW- I am reposting because the instructions state the entry dates to be between 5/24-5/26 : )

It would be wonderful to have all your communications in one central portable place. If you want to be on the cutting edge and truly have a portable office, one should be using the 3G model. My own personal preference would be Wi-Fi because I am still technically challenged. I would use the I-Pad to instantly relay product information, receive emails and use it as a phone. I would also be able to learn new applications that would make my work load easier. The new learning curve will definately irritate me, which JR says helps us to grow. This will force me to embrace new technology. Currently I primarily access the internet from my home computer.

Well, first things first I should probably say hello for the fact that I am new to Market America since the 21th of this month. I will help you with your dilemma right now! You ready?

WiFi "The End" If you want to know why read more, but really i promise that is enough said!

Ok, so since you decided to keep reading I obviously decided to keep writing. I have had an Ipod Touch for 2 years now.(Ipads, little brother) I traveled Europe with it and all i had was Wifi and I put Skype on it a (free way to call anywhere in the world) and with just that device I stayed in contact with my family and friends back in the States, checked my e-mails, booked my flights and train tickets, checked out where we where going to party and played cribbage all just by using WiFi. And there was not a single place we traveled in Europe that we couldn't find the internet! Not one. Even the pope had a WiFi hot spot!!

3G is big now and will eventually be the future! But by the time it becomes the future your Ipad will then be obsolete and there will be something new that supports 3G and then you will once again be asking for people to advise you! Pull up a current 3G world map and see what places don't have coverage! Its a lot.

So my overview is only pay $30 a month for 3G if you are a hermit that never travels anywhere but first make sure you house is in a coverage spot! When you send me my Ipad make sure it only has WiFi please or I will have to return it to you and that is to much work! Thanks

Lets be real though I would use it daily for Everything that I would do on a computer! And if you're wondering still about WiFi or 3G its WiFi more detailed comment was at 18:04 from me. thanks

    WOW!!!
iPad is an Awesome addition to any ma distributor!

    Wi-fi + 3G model = Definitely!

I primarily access the Internet from home, work, and Wi-fi hot spots - but with an 3G iPad it would be anywhere.

3 things I would use an iPad for:
    --------------------------------------
1.) Show off my ma webportal, business plan presentations *, and sign up customers to save with Cashback.

2.) WebCenter prospects without Internet access (or even with) can be shown on the spot.

3.) GPS when I'm in Greensboro, Miami, Dallas ...
    --------------------------------------
    * Flash is my only concern which I'm sure that either Market America will update their video's (perhaps to H.264) or Apple and/or Adobe will come to a compromise.

In the meantime, I'll just access some of the youtube.com/marketamerica videos - for prod and bus videos.

    Thanks JR for the consideration
    Curt

    Hello JR,
    To answer your questions:
    1. I say the wifi+3G is better, because with the 3G , the Ipad will operate a lot smoother and there will be a lot of room in the Ipad to store things without jamming the memory with things to make it slower. Wifi... You can really get anywhere, but 3G is a unique thing.

2.I get my internet from cable at home or at my work place.

3.I would use the Ipad for my MA business and for easy access to a computer without all the bulkiness a computer has. To tell you the truth, I'll probably use it for everything!! A Ipad will make my life A LOT easier compared to what I have now.

    -Wendy

    iPad for Wi-Fi....

The answer lies within! If you move the 'i' from iPad over two spaces to the right, you get iPaid for Wi-Fi...so why pay for 3G?

I will Stop at at Wi-Fi unless I can find that 3G will grow my business to cover my expense 'through expanse'. There is a point that we need to consider on 3G. That is for mobility... and the iPad is mobile as well. There is usually a WiFi available network just around the corner. Excess Access can slow you down!

    Hello Jr,

In my opinion I prefer the Wi-fi+3G.

I primarily access my internet at home with my laptop, where it’s not convenient wanting to show your website.

The primary reason I would use the iPad is using it for Market America. For my convenience instead of leaving my laptop at home I can just bring the iPad in order to show my Market America website. Where ever I may be, for example at the beauty salon having my hair done or at the spa, I would be asking the ladies “Where do you shop?” and I can tell them that “I get paid to shop at my website”.

Another reason I would use the iPad, instead of telling them "Oh, here is my business card you can access my website there." Some people they would misplace or discard the business card. If I would have the iPad handy I would just pop up my website and show it right away.

The last reason is other than being a kid and enjoying it with games; I can also be a business woman and use the iPad for slide show presentations, take notes at meetings, and setting up appointment in one click of a button.

    1) I would choose Wifi + 3G mode. When it comes to information, network, and business, the most important thing is Connection. wi-fi gives me a choice of a faster downloading method than 3G. As what I have learned from World conference this year, this age is no longer an age of Big to beat small, it's an age of fast to beat slow. I want to win so I need the best advantage as much as possible. 3G would come in as the plan B, when Wi-fi is not available. But since 4G is coming on its way very soon, the optimal choice is not that far.
    2) Where do I primarily access the internet from?
My primary access is always my laptop. I would say it's a paradigm shift (Learned from JR's speech in the MP3). It's never about where. It is about the capability to be online. The most powerful thing of the internet is that there are no binderies. When you're on online, you're connected to the world. "Where" is no longer a physical location any more, either you ARE online, or NOT, which is the true point. Where ever I have my laptop with me, I am on-line, primarily. My laptop is enabled with both wi-fi and 3g function.

Three things I would use an Apple iPad for:

Information, information, and information. We're living in the age of information, the most critical thing for us nowadays is how to get accurate information as more as possible, and as soon as possible.

    1. "The Information is behind the iPad."

The first thing I would do is to Use the iPad as a tool, a marketing tool, or a window to have a better understanding of Steven Jobs, of Apple, and of doing business. There're so many critics out there firing at the iPad, apple, and Steven Job, but iPad just ignored all of them, and kept setting records in the history to finally shut those clawns up. It reminds me about market America's unfranchise business. Although I'm new to the MA business, I'm in the business long enough to run into all the bumps and walls that every Market America unfranchise business owner would have been through. I also have witness the success among the company, and people from my organization step by step become more and more successful. What they did was just as we'd been always taught in the B5 training: To be successful in MA unfranchise business is very simple, duplication, just duplicate those who are success.

    2. "The Information that iPad could lead to us."

I want to become successful, and I want to win this iPad. So now I duplicate what JR have just done. iPad is right now the most popular, fashionable product on the earth. Which gives it the most powerful and unique ablity of "attacting attention", which is in another word, an opportunity of Marketing" or advertising. The first thing I would use an Apple iPad to do is that just like what JR is doing right now. I would use an iPad to start a "contest" for all my potential preferred customers, just like what JR did for us. Ask everyone to come to my portal, within a period of time, to register as my preferred customer, and to make an any amount of purchase through my portal, and tell me what do they like the portal the most, and why had they made the purchase, if they have the power to make some changes to the portal, what would be the most 3 things that they want to change. Then at the end of that time, I will give the iPad as a reward to the one who is voted as a winner.

    3. "The information that iPad could lead us to the future."

As I mentioned above, iPad is in the lead of fashion, which could be a very good indicator of "the trend", from many aspects. For example, just look at how much Apps in the iPhone. What are behind these apps are people/individual's very unique interests. Based on how popular the apps are, we can identify how big the market is responding to these interests. Later on, more and more Apps will become available to the iPad just as same as to the iPhone. Not necessarily to "do" something with iPad, just playing with it, is a process to find out all kinds of trending information, and to find out what is "hot" for people, or on the market. I remember this since my very first UBP I learned about Market America's business system: We following with the market trend and we don't manufacture anything. iPad would be the best tool to generating information in order to detect the trending direction in the future. To implement market America’s vision and mission into using the apple iPad would make the iPad the best use of itself.

Above are the 3 things I would/have done with an apple iPad.

3G or wi-fi? 3G for me please. The world is moving faster and faster! We can't always wait to find a hotspot (I'm in VT....). I have customers to service and blogs to read and news to keep up on.
I primarily access the internet from my house - I work from home (thank you MA) on my laptop - portability is crucial to me and also use it on my iPhone. There has been instances where there has been no wi-fit spot and 3G has been invaluable to me getting back to a customer.
The three things I would use an iPad for is:
    1) keeping in touch with my new grandson- he lives 10 hours away from me :( (pictures, skype etc)I'll be honest, my priorities have shifted a bit, and my WHY is even bigger than before!
    2) MY MA business. I read all the blogs, look at hotdeals every day and use it to access my personal links and keep up with all the changes that MA brings to us.
    3) To stay current with technology! We can't be an internet marketing company if we can't use the internet! If I am to be the best customer manager I can be, I need to stay current with what is going on in the technology arena.
I would also use the iPad to stay in touch with friends through social networking. The world is a much smaller place because of the internet and with smaller devices we can all make the world a more peaceful place and make friends from all over the world that we would never have had the opportunity to meet.

    1) I'm going to have to say a 3G for me. The iPad 3G offers the connectivity for someone that is on-the-go. The fact that the iPad does not require a contract in order to connect to 3G makes it more worth it as well because then if you are not going to be out and about, you do not have to pay for the month of service and just connect through WIFI!

    2) The main place I would be connecting my iPad from would be work. I am an employee of Apple and I work as a specialist at the Apple store in Ardmore, PA.

    3) Having an iPad would be an amazing addition to my Apple collection to aid in teaching iPad workshops at the Apple store during the week. This way, I would be able to show personal apps that are downloaded by me and give customers some ideas for their iPads! Another reason I would use the iPad for would be to replace my MacBook Pro for on-the-go purposes. It would be my main source of web surfing and email accessing. Alongside those reasons, I would use it for designing digital art for school projects.

So to me it is wise not to just jump into anything! first look at what i could use it for and since i am just getting my feet wet i went to my son and ask his advise. After laughing at his mother evening considering an i pad he ask what I would use it for. Well i know that i primarily access the internet at home but do use it for business, and my business is growing(thank you Ma!!!). So i will be using it in businesses to show the portal and to prospect, convenience is the key!!!
FINAL DECISION: Get the wifi only model because between the apps available and wifi being just about everywhere it is the wisest choice for a beginner.
The expense is less which makes a difference when just getting started.

What would I use it for? 1. Social networking which is big for keeping in touch and working my business.2. photos music and audios and instant messaging which helps keep memories alive find someone and keep me up on the lastest ma information to pass on. 3. My ma business. I would use it all the time when showing the business or just to explain a product etc. i could really use this to accent my access and ability to show the power of Ma and what we offer.

why not 3g? Well I would rather wait for the 4g to come out ant by then there may be a better tool to use in this fast pace world we live in allowing me to have the lastest and greatest at the time and maybe then see the need for the extra cost. so save my money make use of what is available everywhere right now and then the 4g which by then should be more available and more reasons to have.one.

What better way to start BACK in the business!!!! With the right tools! JR - if I can't have you personally there with me then absolutely the way to go is with the Wifi / 3G model so you are there to pipe in at any moment. Since my husband passed away and his name was Loren ( same as your beautiful wife ) I have a goal for my daughter and my success and I believe with all my heart it is with MA - Losing him taught me to live life every day and sharing MA can be done 24/7 so do I think its critical to have 3G - Oh Lord - I access it in the car ( not driving ), the mall , shopping, eating - I can go on. So 3 things I would use the IPad - show MA's fabulous site since it is available with everything 24/7, show how easy it is to find everything and still make money and last but not least your fantastic new business presentation on MATV. Thanks for making this all so easy.

1.I would say get Wifi and 3G. The fact that the ipad doesn't require a contract for 3G access is a big selling point. If you need it all you have to do is sign up for a month on the device. Its an amazing feature, that no other device can compare to. The complete lack of commitment needed to access 3G makes it an easy choice for me.

    2. I typically access the internet all over my college campus. As a student I am always checking up on Facebook, twitter and email throughout my day. The internet is a integral part of my life and something like an iPad would just make accessing bigger websites and reading textbooks that much easier. My entire college campus is blanketed in WiFi so 3G wouldn't be needed. The 10 hour battery life would be amazing, as it would last the whole day as opposed to 2 hours like my old macbook.

I would primarily use the iPad for..
    1. A portable note taking computer. As a student I am always taking notes for classes and studying notes between classes. The iPad's keyboard would work well for me for taking notes, and the large screen would be great for reading them or the PDF's my professors email to me
    2. Staying connected with my friends and hall mates. I will be an Resident Assistant next year so the ability to type up a long email next year, or check Facebook or twitter next year will be a great help doing my job.
    3. Relaxation, As a college student my life isn't all work. I would use the iPad games between classes and use the huge screen to catch up on the news via safari. The beautiful screen would also be great for watch movies and youtube videos.

    HIGH TECH AND HIGH TOUCH
I would choose to have the Wi-Fi + 3G model.

Though I primarily access the internet from home and frequent a few restaurants and coffee shops with Wi-Fi access, there is no Wi-Fi access at my work place. It is possible to use the Wi-Fi model with a device such as the Verizon Mi-Fi or Sprint 4G devices, but I have an iPhone and already pay for the data plan for that device and I am not enough of a road warrior to spend an additional $60 for data on those supplemental devices. The non-contract $15/month for 250MB will be adequate for the times when I am NOT in a Wi-Fi zone.

Because of it's handheld size, the 10" screen though smaller than my laptop would be a more intimate hands on way of displaying video about Market America, a way of demonstraing the ease of utilizing the webportal, and a way of showing powerpoint presentations to one or two prospective partners or customers. It would also be a great tool to take notes at Convention with it's longer 10 hour battery life (no need to search for a plug) and lighter weight than my laptop.

    Q. - Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?

Although Wifi is becoming more prevalent and popping up in stores pretty much everywhere, 3G still has its place. I feel that the 3G model is the best choice for any business-person looking to grow and expand a business. Being tied down to Wifi networks can cause serious headaches when presented with a weak signal, network passwords, etc.

    Q. - Where do you primarily access the Internet from?

I primarily access the internet from my iPhone.

    Q. - Three things you would use an Apple iPad for.

    1. Showcasing products / websites to potential customers.

    2. Showing the plan via Keynote (Apple's "Powerpoint" software).
    3. Signing up PC's into the maCashback program.

In my opinion, the 3G data is the best feature for a computer or IPAD and an absolute necessity for success as a Market America Unfranchise owner. In many cases I have used my laptop to demonstrate the incredible nutraMetrix.com website to health professionals and found that the wireless service was down, needed a password or did not have a strong signal. I had prepared a seamless presentation that necessitated the use of my laptop and was not able to use it. I also “minor” in MA Webcenters. I once went to present a website to a local restaurant and could not get an internet connection with their wireless service (for a reason out of my control). Needless to say, that was an embarrassing and unproductive meeting.

Although I primarily access the internet from my home Internet connection, I am always thinking about how I can improve my business. My goal, as an entrepreneur, is to always be prepared for meetings and presentations. Because of those experiences, I purchased an external internet plan with Verizon that plugs into the USB port. This way I am always prepared no matter where I am. Since then, I have been able to professionally show health professionals the incredible NutraMetrix.com website and all that it offers their practice. I can also easily show our line of NutraMetrix products, the labels for each product and how easy it is to order a custom cocktail for their practice and their patients. In addition, I have sold a website to a local Chamber of Commerce. I was able to quickly get on the internet through the external 3G network and show the website to the entire table of decision makers! That sale paid for my laptop and the 3G connection!

I would never buy another computer that did not have the 3G built in. I know that the 3G system is a bit slower and drains the battery more, but it is worth it! I will never be caught off guard by not being able to get a wi-fi connection again!

I can’t wait to use the Apple IPAD (even with Wi-Fi) at my next NutraMetrix or Webcenter presentation! The three things I would use an Apple IPAD for are Nutrametrix.com demonstrations with Health Professionals, Web Site Appointments and to show the exceptional Market America PLAN “Push Play”(can you tell I was inspired by Elizabeth Weber in New York?). Thank you in advance for your consideration!

    Just Wi-Fi or new 3G?
I'd take the one that was best for me:
I've got Wi-fi home connection turf
Plus my cell phone gives me mobile surf

Just Wi-Fi sounds great to start
And any Apple IPad would jump my heart!
I'd be bloggin' and surfin' and checking my tweets
From anywhere I could place my feet!

I'd twitter, and tatter all across the net
And get my business into everyone's head
    I'd market, I'd Facebook, I'd sell OPC
An Apple IPad would set me free!

    Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?

*** Personallly, I would prefer the 3G Ipad. Considering the industry we are in, the Wi-Fi version of the ipad would allow us to connect to the internet, but ONLY in locations that provide internet. However looking at the Ipad from a Business perspective, the 3G would be the best option. By getting the Ipad with 3G service, you can take your Ipad to every "client meeting" and with 3G, you can go just about anywhere to conduct a client presentation and use the 3g service to show them the products as well as out stores online,it does not limit your ability. As of now, most of our elder/older clients may not even have internet at all, so with 3g on the Ipad, you can do a whole lot more than the Wi-Fi Ipad... especially because you have internet everywhere you go with the 3G, which then allows you to conduct business ANYWHERE! The benefits of a 3G Ipad outweighs the service fees it'll cost for an Ipad. Imagine the possibilities of showing every potential client our stores from an Ipad. Keeping in mind all Apple products are flawlessly designed, it'll show a greater level of professionalism in our stores, services, and enterprise and show the world we are more technologically advanced than our competitors. As of now, I use my laptop to show our Isotonix and NutraMetrix products, and with an Ipad, I can offer my clients an entirely different experience.

Where do you primarily access the Internet from?

As of now, I primarily access the internet from my Home location (Wi-Fi) and on my Droid Phone.

Three things you would use an Apple iPad for.
    a) Appointments/meetings/product demonstrations
    b) Advertising MA on Social Networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace...)
    c) Signing people up for the Ma Cashback Program.

Everyone in Seattle loves a techie :), plus the ipad would be perfect for presentations and walk-throughs of my website and is very professional to boot (three).

I will get the wi-fi plus 3G network on the Ipad if I have one. $130 may seems alot, but it will save more in the long run. wi-fi is good, but for a business traveler, MA unFranchise owner, it won't help. Because we still need to pay a cost to get internet service at some of the hotels. so with the 3G network it will save a lot in the long run.
I will primarily use the Ipad during traveling and at the coffee shop, so I can keep track of my unFranchise business while I am on a trip or business meeting and 3G network will help a lot. I can alway keep track of my business anywhere without worrying finding a place for wifi and even lots phones have data plan to access to 3G but a
I will use in for my unFranchise business, school works and social networks.

    Thanks Thanks

I would love to have a Wi-Fi plus 3G model. My iPad will be used to communicate with my family, friends, and MA unFranchise business partners while I'll be in Hong Kong this July, prior to my Greensboro, NC trip. I'll be prospecting in Hong Kong for a month and doing some make-up freelancing with the custom-blends.
The fact that 3G is one of the necessities in Hong Kong, equipping myself with a WiFI plus 3G iPad would be the first thing I need to do (besides taking all my custom-blends).
I hope I get the lucky iPad from you JR.
I'll be literally accessing the internet everywhere I go in Hong Kong, at coffee shops, at my parents house, at my brother's bar, on the bus, on the trams and trains, at the pool, on the ferry across the Victoria Habor and etc.
I can guarantee that my iPad will not be gone to waste and will perform to its fullest potentials.

    Thank you :)

I say 3G and wi-fi! Wi-fi can be handy when your 3G connection is down, ie..tower needs repair from wind damage etc... But I think 3G is necessary because wi-fi isn't always available. I still love to read "books." But when it comes to my kids, buying hardbacks can become expensive because they are also avid readers. THe benefits I believe are worth the purchase. It seems to me, if you want a reader that has the all-in-one capability of a reader and an ipod, nothing beats it!

    Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
Definitely WiFi + 3G. I was in Miami had its iPad coming out party. Having just become a UFO December 09, I knew immediately that this would be a great business tool. The "Mall without Walls" is internet based. The best product you have on it is the mall itself. How great it would be to be out and about and in an informal setting be able to show someone the mall.

Where do you primarily access the Internet from?
I have an iPhone. I am on the internet every day. I love the freedom of access it gives me to look up information, to have access to the mall and to look up product information. I couldn't tell you how many times I have used my iPhone to pull up business related information. It is also a great tool. . . but small.

Three things you would use an Apple iPad for are..
    1) business presentations - utilize PowerPoint. (the iPad is a powerful business tool; I hope in the near future MA will utilize media other than Flash so that we can utilize this tool -- the sooner the better).
    2) access the back office at any location - while on vacation or out and about, never without an opportunity to check my back office or send out an eFlyer to customers or just to make sure all forms are submitted on a timely basis.
    3) sign up on the spot preferred customers - never lose out on an opportunity to sign up a preferred customer while the iron is hot.

There are definitely more than three ways to utilize this tool in this business; but three is all you asked for.

Looking forward to hearing your response. Who ever wins this iPad will be in for a treat! Thanks for the opportunity!

    Wi-fi + 3G model or wi-fi only model?
Ok, if you have the money to burn, ofcourse the 3G, reason? you get more flexibility. But as for me, i will choose Wi-fi, reason? Because i have a way to make the wi-fi Ipad work like a 3G Ipad for FREE. Wanna know? let me give away this tips to anyone who didn't know, here's how you do it: Does anyone know anything about something call the Mi-fi? There are several carriers out there that provides a device you can purchase/free and it serves as a mobile hotspot for you to connect upto 5 devices using wi-fi. To explain this in simple english, you can use your current data plan that you already have on your phone and then purchase a mi-fi device, then this mi-fi device that is only a size of 3 credit card that you carry in your pocket picks up signals from your cellphone, and then take those signal and provide to any other wi-fi enable device around the area to hook up to the internet for free (up to 5 device once)
What's the biggest benefit you ask? well, you can avoid paying a second data plan to AT&T with the Ipad, one data plan and serve up to 5 device! how good is that? and the mi-fi device is significantly cheaper than the price difference you're paying for the 3G ipad. So guys/girls, let's make your wi-fi ipad into anywhere ipad!! and lastly, remember the wi-fi ipad is 99% the same as the 3G model so you'll get to use all functions without paying more!

Where do you primarily access the Internet from?
I primarily access the internet from Home, and then starbucks, hotels, that's about all the PRIMARY place to access the internet which they all have wi-fi access, so i guess 3G might not be a necessity afterall. but like i said before, use Mi-Fi!!

Three things you would use an Apple iPad for are...
#1, it's for my ma Business!! I need it very much (as explained on my previous win an Ipad contest) it's a replacement of my entire recruiting kit! and they are heavy! this thing can replace everything that i have on my recruiting kit. Appointment book, magazine and note pad etc.
#2, Read books! (as explained on previous contest), this thing can read Kindle books too! it's the most complete device (book library) that you can get out of any device on the market!
#3, Audio and Visual. Watch video, i can watch my favorite sports team through applications, movie that you can rent through netflex, and all other internet streaming videos ofcourse. Audio: it's an Huge Ipod! market america audio, musics, radio! all of them!

I personally would go with the 3g+wi-fi. Nothing is worse then having technologies that are designed to supply everything that we need, but are limited because of connection. It's sad, but true convinence always cost a little more! What should be considered the most is--what risk are you taking by not purchasing the one that offers the complete package first? Possibly you could end up purchasing an upgraded one in the near future. For instance say you are flying, riding a train, or on the boat. You would have everything you need as long as connection is available.
I use the internet at home and work (DSL).
First, I would use my Ipad to transition my customers to web portal purchasing, while they are being serviced. I am a hairstylist and I have a great network of people, but I want to show them that there is more to the company than Isotonix's. 2ndly I came into the business in December 09 and I have been on fire! I want to share Market America with everyone, but most time I am limited because I don't have a iPAD. 3rdly it is so portable that it can be utilized any where and any place. I would love to be able to say that this company is so awesome! Let me tell you about this iPad and how it came about.

Given current environment conditions, there still aren’t as many wifi hotspots freely available as we’d like. Therefore, I would choose the ipad with wifi + 3g because of the power and freedom it can give me to run my MA business. However, Sprint now offers a mobile device that creates a 4g wifi hotspot, which is 10 times faster than 3g, and allows up to 5 devices to link up to the mobile device to get internet access at 4g speed. That means the ipad with wifi only is sufficient. The down side is that the 4g device costs at least $100 and requires a monthly fee of $59. I decided that the wifi + 3g is still the most economical option for now that enables internet connection anywhere—at least until Sprint can lower their fee.

Although I mainly use the internet at home, my internet usage on the go has definitely been increasing. I currently use my iphone to grab information and map driving routes online, but its small screen size limits its use for business. The ipad can change all that.
The ipad would be a great help to my maWebCenter business. I would walk in to a business and tell the owner that I offer powerful, customizable, and easy to maintain websites to businesses like his/hers. And I can bring up their website, if they have one, set up a demo site for them, set up an appointment with a product specialist, or show them the MAWC video all on the spot. The technological efficiency will definitely give us more credibility with some business owners.

Next I would use the ipad to promote my MA business. In the area of retailing, I love to educate customers on our products. Often their peak interest to buy is right after I’ve explained to them how our products can benefit their lives. People buy on impulse and emotion, and they want things fast. With the ipad, I would be able to go on my web portal, show the customer the products they are interested in, and walk them through the ordering process right on the spot. For a prospective business partner, I could use the “Keynote” program to show the Power Point UBP or log onto MATV to show MA videos. I can work the 2-3 year plan part time, but get almost full time productivity.

Finally, I am always hungry for coaching. Therefore I read business and personal growth books and listen to audios whenever it’s convenient and accessible. With an ipad, I can get the coaching I need anytime, anywhere.

In summary, the ipad with wifi + 3g is the ULTIMATE BUSINESS TOOL for entrepreneurs to create a successful UnFranchise Business.
